These laboratories are: Laboratory of Central Cardiovascular Regulation, Epidemiology Laboratory, Cellular Pharmacology Laboratory,  Infectious Disease and Immunology Laboratory,  Cancer Genomics Laboratory,  Molecular Medicine Laboratory and Translational Medicine Laboratory. The department also established a new two-story Experimental Animal Center which was opened in 1995 and renovated in 2012. The Experimental Animal Center was accredited by ISO9002 and agricultural committee. The research interests range from physiology, biochemistry, immunology, endocrinology, neurology, epidemiology, molecular and cellular biology, pharmacology, oncology and genomics. The investigators here also work closely with clinicians in the fields of internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, psychiatry, dermatology, pediatrics, dentistry and other common diseases in Taiwan .

A principal investigator (PI) with a Ph.D. degree or Professor qualification runs and manages each laboratory. Most of our PIs are also invited professors of National Sun Yat-Sen University or other universities in southern Taiwan . In addition to the technologists, the students undergoing MS or PhD programs and research assistants comprise the major portion of manpower in the laboratories. Most of the technologists and research assistants are B.S. or M.S. graduates.
