Locally Advanced Invasive Thyroid Cancer Case --- It’s possible to restore the organ function and achieve the excellent treatement response

    A 47-year-old female patient got huge right neck masses and progressive hoarseness for one year. Right vocal palsy was diagnosed preoperatively. Total thyroidectomy with right extended lateral and central radical neck dissection were done.

    It’s an ATA guideline presumes high risk case. Radioiodine therapy (RAI) with 150mCi was done later. Post-RAI scan revealed no distant metastasis. Meanwhile, we also arranged a type I thyroplasty surgery for the patient to correct her right vocal palsy. The patient’s voice was restored postoperatively. It’s well acceptable for the patient to preserve the function of organ and get an excellent response of the treatment outcome.
