Oral cancer surgery
The head and neck cancer team treats more than 150 oral cancer patients annually. The five-year overall survival rate exceeds 60%. With advancements in free flap reconstruction and adjuvant chemoradfiotherapy, our oral cancer patients experience both improved survival rates and enhanced quality of life. The average hospital stay is approximately 19 days (SD, 10 days). Recently, neoadjuvant chemotherapy has been incorporated into the treatment modalities, helping to reduce the extent of resection, postoperative complications, and the intensity of adjuvant therapy. 3D printing and precision medicine, such as Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), have also been incorporated.
