    Formation and Connotation of the QMC's Mission, Values and Vision

    Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital is the only public medical center in the Kao-Ping area, with the mission of providing high quality services, teaching and research. The Quality Management Center plans and formulates the mission, values and vision of the center based on the philosophy and mission of hospital management development (as shown in Table 1 and Figure 3). Through internal consensus meetings and adequate team communication mechanisms, we have set the mission of "promoting quality and safe whole-person care, cultivating a moral and technically superior quality control team, developing intelligent technologies that benefit patients, promoting medical activities in regional hospitals, and expanding our medical vision to the international arena", with "quality, sharing, respect, and cooperation" as our four core values, and "to put LEAN first, AI second, transforming KSVGH into a holistic care environment that implements medical care in all aspects".

     

    1.The Quality Management Center places emphasis on patient safety and assisting medical teams in providing quality holistic care; cultivates excellent quality control personnel and emphasizes teamwork; in line with the hospital's development direction and government health and medical policies, promotes and enhances regional medical cooperation and standards, actively participates in international medical and medical safety activities, and continues to implement patient safety and improve quality with precision and wisdom to achieve the hospital's vision of "Excellence and Glory for the World".

    2. Implementation of the Center's Mission, Values and Vision

    The Quality Management Center, under the leadership of the Center Director, develops strategic goals in accordance with the vision, core values and mission set by the Center, in line with the strategic goals of the hospital and the Center's medium-term plan, and with reference to the annual hospital medical quality and patient safety work goals, annually formulates a comprehensive quality management plan, which is divided into three major parts: "medical care quality improvement", "patient safety business promotion" and "overall service quality improvement" (Figure 4).

    Continuous medical quality improvement: to promote hospital-wide quality control activities, implement quality management in each unit, and internalize the quality culture of daily management.

    Medical quality indicators monitoring: Develop and monitor quality management indicators according to hospital evaluation requirements and internal quality management needs, and review and improve abnormal indicators to improve the overall quality of the hospital.

    3. Implementation of quality management education and training: To promote overall quality, continuous learning and training of talents are the basis for quality improvement, so we promote quality management, patient safety, and service etiquette education and training, so that the concept of quality is deeply embedded in the awareness and behavior of all employees.

    4.Patient safety business promotion: the implementation and audit of patient safety system, providing a safe medical environment for patients, and implementing patient-centered medical care.

    5. Enhancement of service quality for the public: Continuously review the service process, strengthen the convenience and correctness of the service, enhance the satisfaction of internal and external customer service, and establish comprehensive customer relationship management.
