Division of Thoracic Surgery
The Division of Thoracic Surgery was founded in 1990. We serve patients with diseases arising in the chest, including the lungs, esophagus, and mediastinum. Besides management of operation, to organize the integrate processes of disease registration, diagnosis, operation, treatment, and research is to ensure a high quality of care. The faculty of our division is comprised of well-trained experts including general thoracic surgeons, thoracic oncologists and thoracic traumatologist.
Our division provides state-of-the-art care for all types of thoracic diseases. The advanced technology and imaging systems including flexible and rigid bronchoscopy, esophagoscopy, thoracoscopy, and mediastinoscopy are extensively utilized for the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

1. Traumatic or unexplained chest pain
2. Undetermined pulmonary nodules by chest x-ray examination
3. Thoracic trauma
4. Bloody sputum or hemaptysis

9. Palmar hyperhidrosis and Bromohidrosis

Diseases that we deal with:
- Lung tumor or cancer (operation and chemotherapy treatment)
- Esophageal tumor or cancer (operation and chemotherapy treatment)
- Cancer of cardia of stomach (operation and chemotherapy treatment)
- Inflammatory lung diseases such as bronchiectasis, tuberculosis, or fungal infection.
- Pneumothorax (spontaneous or traumatic)
- Empyema
- Mediastinal tumor
- Myasthenia gravis
- Mediastinal lymphadenopathy
- Benign or malignant airway stenosis
- Esophageal tumor or cancer
- Esophageal diverticulum or stricture
- Corrosive injury
- Funnel chest or pigeon chest
- End-stage lung diseases (for lung transplantation)

- Bougie /Mercury esophageal dilatation
